The “Duck” gets fired up – First 12 points in the bag.

The first team visited Harrow Town and aim was to get back to winning ways after the loss to Uxbridge the previous week.

Conditions were overcast with chance of rain, and naturally you would’ve thought to bowl first, however given the strength of the Wembley line we preferred the bat first option. Chirag went back to his old ways and didn’t win the toss, but Harrow Town wanted the challenge and chose to bowl.

Wembley opener Moz scored a solid 107 off 104 balls, as expected not many singles were run. On the contrary Vibhor who has been scoring runs on a weekly basis was unable to add any value with the bat, edging behind early to be dismissed on 0. Chirag (32)-Fell over and got stumped, Vinay (27) – Missed a straight ball, blames it on jet lag, Jackson (18) – Following Vrushank from previous week attempting to take a run when hit straight to fielder, and Sayed (16*)-Stood there and smiled at Vimal’s LBW, were the only other batsmen to get into double figures, but no batsmen could convert into 50s.

Wembley ended with a competitive 247 off only 47.5 overs.

With Harrow Town chasing 248 to win, the Wembley bowlers knew that removing the top 4 of Harrow Town would be enough to then seal the game. It didn’t get any better when Vibhor removed captain Asim Mohammed for 1 lbw and Govind removing other Harrow Town Opener the following over. Special shout to Chirag for 1. Taking a catch at slip 2. Catching it one handed as he couldn’t get his left- and right-hand coordination correct. Few overs later and another 2 wickets down Harrow Town were in serious trouble at 16-4. The only batsmen that showed any form of resilience was overseas Sanjay Mishra who scored 64 off 68 Balls. Once Vimal found his grove he managed to take a few quick wickets finishing on figures on 8 - 2 – 41 - 3. Vibhor wrapped up the innings bowling his younger but better-looking brother. Final Figures of 15 – 5 – 28 -6. Harrow Town finished on 104 all out.

Man of the Match: Moz (Can’t let Vibz bowling get to his head)

Side Note: Vimal 1st ball LBW has since been reviewed by the umpire and confirmed it should not have been out and Vimal should not have to do death as his fine.
