Coming off the back of two loses in a row and with the gofundme page to pay for Rahul's return ticket from India almost at its target, Wembley 3's were in desperate need of a victory to get the season back on track following an impressive start.
Losing the toss and being put into bat on a surface that had been battered by the downpours of earlier in the week, coupled with Harrow Towns overseas West Indian marking out his 84 step run up had not filled the team with confidence that today would be the day to get back to winning ways, however the opening partnership of Tejas (33) & Hassan K (30) soon settled any nerves, making a solid start on a wicket that was offering a fair bit to the bowlers. Wembley accelerated well in the middle overs before an end of innings collapse closed the innings on 178 from 47.4 overs. What appeared to be a slightly below par target ended up being anything but.
A hostile opening spell from F.Azzizi 7-0-16-3 & J.D 7-2-18-1 and a cat like run out from Butcher (Photo included) left the opposition in tatters at 15-5. There was no let up following the introduction of Kish & Akash into the attack. Kish ending with 4.4-2-2-3 which included an absolute worldie of a catch at first slip from Akash. (Photo included). Akash himself took two wickets as Harrow Town were dismissed meagre 56 AO with Wembley exemplary in the field to secure a well deserved 12 points and a return to the top of the table.
Next week sees a top of the table battle as the 3's travel to Hampstead.
