Wembley vs North London - Week 2

Game Week 2.

Wembley (W) in their first home game of the season took on North London(NL).

NL won the toss and decided to have a bat first and gave Wembley the opportunity to chase. Maybe they hadn't seen us chase a total down the previous week.

Unfortunately fortunes didn't go the Wembley way and NL got off to a flying start pilling on runs a good rate throughout their innings. Their opener Will Lake scored 108 off just 84 Balls. Once he was out with NL on 183 - 3, Wembley still had to get past captain Sam Bardon who scored a solid 92. Fortunately for Wembley, NL kept loosing wickets however finished off with a total of 311 off their 45 overs.

Pick of the Wembley bowlers was Vimal with 3-40.

The Wembley run chase never got going and we found ourselves at 33-4 with the top 4 back in the dressing room. The only batsmen who stepped up to the plate and took on the challenge was Vibhor scoring 77 off 50 balls (4 x 4 and 8 x 6) - Seems like he didn't want to run many singles (13).
Vibhor was only briefly supported by Sneh (31) and Chirag (21) both who could not push on to higher scores. Wembley finished on 177 - 10 and lost the game by a big margin.

Ultimately the game was lost in the 1st innings. The poor fielding from the team allowed the opposition to score 311 which added pressure in the run chase.

There were not many positives to take away from the game, but the players all know what they need to work on in training and prepare for Week 3.
