Wembley won the toss and decided to field, a decision that paid off for them as they restricted Southgate to 155.
Southgate opened strong with the openers taking charge and going on an early attack taking them to 40 for 0 after 8 overs. Vibhor Yadav broke the opening partnership and things took a turn when Wembley turned to Sneh Shah and Vimal Arjan who put the squeeze on. Sneh taking 3 and Vimal taking 2 in quick succession bringing the total to 83/6. Chirag Amin bought Vibhor back on to finish the tail end but after a 30 run partnership between the 10th wicket Southgate ended their innings on 155.
Wembley got off to a flyer thanks to the attacking start made by Mo Rizvi who was the pillar of the Wembley innings. Southgate tried to chip away at the wickets on the other end but Mo’s 76 meant that the total of 156 was easily reached by Wembley in 36.4 overs .
