Wembley cricket club played the visitors against Uxbridge cricket club during the fifth week of the
MCCL Division 3 fixture on the 8th of June.
Wembley won the toss and elected to bat on a flat hard wicket. Although a shaky start losing their
first wicket on the second ball of the game, Vrushank Dalal and Vibhor Yadav steadied the ship and
got Wembley to a comfortable position at 1/130 with both players playing freely and showing their
class. However, the run out of Vrushank led to a middle order collapse which saw none of the
Wembley middle order pass 20. Wembley set Uxbridge a mediocre total of 189.
Wembley’s defense started very strong with Vibhor picking up a controversial wicket in the opening
over of their innings. However, consistent partnerships from the uxbridge batsmen and sloppy
fielding from Wembley saw Uxbridge come out victors by 5 wickets.
Wembley look to bounce back and go 4 and 2 when they take on Harrow town next match.
