Solid Win - Wembley go top

Acton travelled to Wembley for their first clash of the season. Wembley won the toss and elected to bat first. Acton started well with Raj Raikar removing Moazzam Rizvi in the first over. But Karamvir Mangat and Vibhor Yadav put on 65 run stand for the second wicket and eased early nerves. Acton struck again with Vibhor miss timing a full toss on 31 to extra cover after being refused a single on the previous ball by Karamvir Mangat. Jackson Bye then came onto the crease and batted sensibly for his 24. Alex Brennan provided acton the next break by getting Karamvir Mangat stumped on 55. Vinay Shah stole the show with some clean striking scoring 64 which included 4 boundaries and 4 sixes and was well supported by Wembley skipper Chirag Amin who put on 44. Wembley finally finished 258 all out in 50.4 overs. Probably a blessing in disguise, which meant they had 4 extra overs to get Acton bowled out. Nasir Mehmood (4-46) and Alex Brennan(3-58) were the pick of the bowlers for Acton.

Vinay Shah(64), Karamvir Mangat(55), Chirag Amin(44), Vibhor Yadav(31). Nasir Mehmood (4-46), Brennan(3-58).

Acton dint have the start they would have liked with the bat, with Vrushank Dalal removing Lucas Carlisle (Acton’s top scorer so far this season) early on. Vibhor Yadav from the other end looked dangerous from the start and removed Acton’s Skipper Sahil Kher for 4 runs. Muhammad Arshad and Matthew Reeve tried to resurrect the innings a little bit before Vimal Arjan removed Matthew Reeve on 21. And then it was time for Wembley’s skipper to bring himself on and probably bowled the game changing over where he removed Muhammad Arshad for 26 who was looking settled, and a very dangerous Raj Raikar for 0 on consecutive deliveries. Acton still had Yasir Mehmood on the crease who got acton going a little with Josh Fisher(20) first and then Nasir Mehmood(39). Yasir Mehmood(54) finally lost his wicket to Vinay Shah who got 2 wickets for 20 runs to add to his brilliant half century earlier. Acton were finally bowled out for 200 runs in 41.5 overs, with Wembley’s bowlers sharing the wickets amongst them. Vimal Arjan, Chirag Amin, Vinay Shah claiming two victims each.

Yasir Mehmood(54), Nasir Mehmood(39), Muhammad Arshad(26). Vinay Shah(2-20), Chirag Amin(2-20), Vimal Arjan(2-54)
